About Acro

Acro combines individual gymnastics skills with partner and group work.

Gymnasts learn balances, movements and routines while developing strength, flexibility, body control, communication and trust with the other gymnasts they work with.

Classes are suitable for gymnasts with a range of abilities and experience.

Learning and Progression

Our Acro & Dance classes combine gymnastics, acrobatics and dance, with gymnasts learning individual skills alongside partner and group activities. Classes are group led, with coaches adapting activities to accommodate different abilities and learning speeds.

Developing Acro & Dance Skills

Beginners learn fundamental gymnastics movements, including rolls, balances, handstands and cartwheels, alongside basic dance techniques and coordination exercises.

As their skills develop, gymnasts progress to more complex acrobatic movements, partner balances and coordinated sequences. Dance activities focus on rhythm, choreography and combining movements into group routines.

Displays and Further Development

Gymnasts have opportunities to take part in our annual club showcase, performing routines developed during their classes.

As their skills progress, gymnasts work towards more advanced acrobatic movements, partner balances and group routines, incorporating choreography and dance techniques.
